Customer Service Awards 2015

Telford Shopping Centre has marked the start of National Customer Service Week (5-9 October 2015) with an awards ceremony which put the spotlight on the Centre’s customer service stars.

The fifth annual Telford Shopping Centre Customer Services Awards followed a mystery shopping exercise by specialist independent assessors who visited every store at the Centre objectively measuring, assessing and reporting customer experiences. 

The awards ceremony, applauded those who excelled by providing the highest standards of customer service. 

Thirty stores received a score of 100 per cent from the assessors – a 20 per cent increase on the number of stores hitting the top spot in 2014 – with a further 56 achieving over 90 per cent.  The highest performing stores included independent operators as well as major high street names including River Island, Claire’s Accessories and The Body Shop. 

Chris Jones, Centre Director at Telford Shopping Centre, said: “National Customer Service Week provides us with an ideal opportunity to recognise and reward the many customer service stars who continually go above and beyond their roles to transform the experiences of visitors to Telford Shopping Centre.”

“We are delighted that mystery shopping results have seen even more stores take top honours this year. Retail is an increasingly competitive and commercial environment and this outstanding result is testament to the commitment and consistency shown by our retailers.

National Customer Service Week is an annual initiative by the Institute of Customer Service which aims to raise awareness of the vital role customer service plays in successful business practice and the growth of the UK economy. 

Throughout the week, Telford Shopping Centre’s 10 strong customer service team will be showcasing and promoting its varied services, which range from facilitating the hire of mobility scooters and Kiddie Kruzzers, to booking local theatre tickets and providing practical assistance to visitors living with disabilities.

Chris Jones added: “The Customer Service Team at Telford Shopping Centre deals with around 2,000 customer enquiries a week and  strives to set the standard for ‘front of house’ customer engagement and interaction.”
