The box road works are approaching the final stages which will allow for the new two way system to come into effect. 

Shropshire Couple Tie the Knot at Telford Shopping Centre

A Shropshire couple is celebrating after tying the knot at Telford Shopping Centre today.

Bride, Kate Marr, aged 40, and Groom, Mike Davies, aged 44, who are both from Madeley, were legally married in front of around 40 invited guests and hundreds of shoppers. The 20 minute ceremony took place from 2pm this afternoon in Sherwood Square, right at the heart of Telford Shopping Centre. 

Box Road Update - November 2014

Works continue across the box road system but from Monday 24th November, two major sections will become two-way access temporarily for seven weeks during the Christmas trading period.

Woodhouse Central which leads between House of Fraser and Odeon Cinema towards the M54 and Lawn Central which leads past Darby House towards Hollinswood will be made temporarily two-way through until 12 January. 

New Southern Quarter Scheme Approved

Plans for the first phase of the redevelopment of Telford Shopping Centre have been given the green light by Telford & Wrekin Council.

Box Road Update - October 2014

Works continue as part of development of the surrounding box road and connecting links to Telford Town Centre set by Telford and Wrekin Council and The Highways Agency.  These works have meant alterations in areas and reduces the surrounding box road to a single lane of traffic for safety while works continue to change the current road structure to a two-way system and pedestrian improvements.

Photography Competition Winners Announced

Telford Shopping Centre has announced the three winners of this year’s photography competition and, as the standard of entries was so high, the organisers have also awarded commendations to an additional nine budding snappers.

Representatives from the Centre’s management team were joined by Telford-based professional photographer Craig Holmes to judge the submissions and pick a winner from each of three age groups: 11 and under, 12-17 years, and 18 years and older, with entries invited in three themed categories: Your Telford, Animal Antics, or Having Fun.

New Southern Quarter to Replace 'Green Shed'

Plans for the first phase of redevelopment of Telford Shopping Centre have been subnmitted to Telford & Wrekin Council.

The proposals for the Southern Quarter development comprise new restaurants and cafés, housed in a stylish contemporary new building to replace the unattractive 'Green Shed', which is currently being demolished.

FORMER FOCUS STORE BUILDING TO BE DEMOLISHED TO MAKE WAY FOR FIRST PHASE OF TELFORD SHOPPING CENTRE REDEVELOPMENT

Work on the demolition of the little-loved “green shed” in Telford town centre started today (Monday 7 July 2014).  The £160,000 contract is a precursor to the redevelopment of the site as the Southern Quarter, the first phase of the Telford Shopping Centre redevelopment masterplan.

Box Road Works Update - June 2014

Works continue along Quentin Gate, Coach Central, Malinsgate and Woodhouse Central and are progressing well.

In early June the Southwater car park was completed and opened to the public as part of the first phase of works. Temporary lights are still in operation in some areas and daily assessment as part of the planned works takes place to consider all access options and limit any disruption within the area.
