Telford welcomes Foodilicious event

Shoppers are in for a tasty treat this May Bank Holiday as Telford Centre hosts a free food event.

The ‘Foodilicious’ festival celebrates the arrival of TGI Friday’s, Prezzo and Patisserie Valerie in Telford, with free food samples and fun for all the family.

Activities are planned around the Centre and Southern Quarter on Monday 1st May from 11am-4pm, and include face painting and balloon modelling for children, live music, giveaways and games.

Telford Centre marketing manager Katie Broome said: “The launch of three new eateries in the Centre has given us the perfect excuse for a party, and we are thrilled to offer this fantastic free family event for Bank Holiday Monday.

“There will be food sampling carts with tasty treats from the businesses inside the Centre as well as our new Southern Quarter brands. And throughout the day visitors will have chance to win fantastic prizes with our ‘Wheel of Foodtune’ game!

“All of our shops and eateries will be open throughout the event, so we encourage shoppers to come down to bag a bargain, sample our scrumptious food choices and get involved in the fun.”

Shoppers also have chance to win £100 family meals at the Southern Quarter restaurants either by picking up a kite trail competition leaflet from the Customer Service desk or by posing at one of the selfie photo boards in the Centre and uploading their image to Facebook.

The kite trail and selfie competitions run until 8th May.

The Southern Quarter is one of three major development schemes currently underway at the 1.2 million sq ft Telford Centre.

A new Fashion Quarter will host larger Next and New Look stores, while leading supermarket Aldi has announced plans for a new store in the Centre’s Norther Quarter redevelopment.
